A woman who thought her vagina looked like a Big Mac has gone under the knife for painful surgery.
Antonia was turned down by the NHS for treatment after suffering years of pain because of the size of her bits.
She said her labia hung down 4cm from her body – causing them to rub in her pants and cause chafing that would leave her in extreme pain.
So she forked out £3,100 to go private and have labiaplasty surgery to remove excess skin.
She told her story as part of a new BBC Three documentary called My Unusual Vagina.
“My labias drop down 4cm from the outside, these are like elastic bands, if I was to pull them I could get them down to my thigh,” she said.
Drawing her vagina as if it was a burger she said: “If we turn that around it’s a Big Mac with all the lettuce hanging outside.”
She admitted a previous partner told her: “I can’t wait to sleep with someone with a normal vagina.”
Another cruel lover jibed: “You’ve got a pair of balls.”
And even explained how her labia got burned in the sun, when she was on a girls’ holiday.
“For me sex is difficult, because it can hurt and feel uncomfortable,” she said.
“How are you meant to enjoy it when the main organ that you would use you feel completely embarrassed by, and then on the other hand it hurts physically. It is not an aspect of my life that is very explored and enjoyed.”
She later admitted to googling pictures of other women’s vaginas to see what they look like.
She then decided to go under the knife but it didn’t end Antonia’s problems as the left side healed but the right side ended up “swollen and deformed”.
And three weeks after the surgery at Fitzroy Surgery in London, she revisited the clinic.
“What I have now I should just be happy that it is better than what I had before,” she said.
“I would say it looks like a double cheeseburger, I wouldn’t say it’s an actual sealed bun, but the meat is tucked inside it, it’s not a like a Big Mac with the fillings hanging out.”
