Despite Claims Of Good Governance By Governor Okorocha, Jobless School Leaver Commits Suicide In Imo

Despite claims of good governance and having given Imo people a
better life by Governor Rochas Okorocha, a secondary school leaver, Chigozie Igwe has committed suicide by hanging himself in his family house due to joblessness.
The tragedy happened at Umuofor, Umumumo community in Ehime Mbano Local Council of Imo State
The late Chigozie, it was gathered, was frustrated after leaving secondary school several years without finding a job.
Friends of the deceased said he had complained bitterly days before his death, saying his sufferings had become unbearable.
He dropped a suicide note by his bedside, saying the world has been wicked to him.
It read: ”die, die, die. Let no body weep for me because, I am tired of this wicked world.”
The deceased’s distraught mother, Mrs. Antonia Igwe, wept uncontrollably for her son, saying amid tears, ”Chigozie, is it the way you chose to leave this world? Remember that you have committed an abomination and you will go to the worst part of hell.”
Despite billions of dollars earned from oil export yearly, nothing trickles down to millions of ordinary people like Chigozie. After taking care of themselves by way of handsome pay and bonuses, the insatiable and wicked leaders stash away what would have been used to cater for the poor and advance the country in tanks and banks abroad.
Meanwhile, Nigerian music star and rights activists, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy has said that corruption and impunity in governance have robbed Nigeria’s grandchildren of a future.
Charley Boy said this when he led youths to a protest, tagged “ourmumudondo” in Owerri, the Imo State capital, against what he described as bad governance in Nigeria.
He said: “People need to ask questions though we are our own worst enemies. We have been quiet for too long. We want to aggressively sensitise the people that nothing can change overnight except we make a move.
“Corruption has stolen our grandchildren’s future; there is impunity in the land; and there is criminality in government whereas public office holders ought to serve us and not the other way round.”
