Meanwhile, the Joint Committee on Education, Gender Affairs and Judiciary, presented its report on the amendment of Cap 37 of the State Education Law.
The Chairman of the committee, Mr Matthew Ugwueze, said the law would reposition education in the state, play a central role in achieving the education agenda and vision of the state government.
Ugwueze further explained that the amendment would cover various sections such as management of the state post- primary school, the education system of the state and registration of teachers among others.
Also the house received another report from the Committee on Education in respect of its oversight visit to Enugu State College of Education Technical (ESCET).
Ugwueze said that the committee discovered that the college council had breached the rule on quarterly meeting for boards as stipulated by the law establishing the institution.
He said that the committee recommended that the assembly summons the Council Chairman, Mrs Fidelia Njeze, to explain why the board breach the law as well as increased the allowances for the meeting.
