The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja 11 has appealed to the three Kaduna state Senators to forget their political differences and support their governor in the interest of development of the state.
The monarch was apparently reacting to the $350m which the Kaduna state government is seeking approval from the Senate and which the Senate recently rejected.
He said, “On the loan, I call on the Senators from Kaduna State to join hands with their Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai and look at the future, they should not allow their political differences to allow the state lose the opportunity on ground.
Ooni made the appeal while speaking at the opening ceremony of the Kaduna invest Summit with the theme: Partnership for development in Kaduna on Wednesday.
He said Kaduna is a peculiar state with huge potentials and one of the most blessed states in the entire black race.
The monarch called on the three Senators to support their Governor, join hands with him as a formidable force to make things work in the state.
“Let us look for the betterment of people we govern irrespective of political differences, don’t let your political differences affect the good thing that should happen in Kaduna State.
“I want to appeal to leaders to put their political differences aside in the interest of developing your state and the people who elected you.
“Kaduna is the convergent State for the entire northern region, and the need to convert the huge potentials into reality is imperative.
“We should all look inward and come together as one big family in terms of our comparative advantages.”
On the summit, the royal father said, “there is the need in partnering for a better Nigeria, let us join hands to make sure that the summit will continue to yield results and not a talk show jamboree.”
Commending the efforts of the governor, the Ooni said,”Governor el-Rufai is the brightest, smartest and boldest governor in Nigeria,” adding that the governor needs all the support to transform the state positively.
