UPDATE: Recent HOUNDING Of Lawmakers Causes Senators And House Members To Hold Joint Closed Door Session

Lawmakers from the Senate and House of Representative are about to hold a joint session to discuss the ongoing political crisis in the country.
DENISAURUS News reporters were first briefed about an executive meeting that took place at the Senate at about 11 this morning.
This paper understands that legislators in the upper chamber held a meeting as a result of recent issues taking places in the country, which has pitted some of them against the Executive arm of government.
It was at the first meeting that members of the two chambers that make up the National Assembly, decided to break off to hold a closed door meeting.
The police has been embroiled in a few scuffle with lawmakers who have spoken against issues such as corruption in President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet.
A lawmaker from Kogi-West, Dino Melaye, who exposed corruption in the Executive arm accused the police of plotting to kill him.
The lawmaker who only resumed back to work after being manhandled by officers, said: ““I want to say that I am alive because God protected me. I want to say, Mr. President, that the Nigeria Police tried to kill me twice.
“One, through the process of a chemical substance and a second time through an injection. They actually came with an injection to inject me, but God intervened and to Him alone be the glory for ever and ever.”
On Sunday night, the Police claimed that Senate President and the Governor of Kwara, Abdulfatah Ahmed needed to provide information regarding a robbery in the state.
The two who were accused of sponsoring the thugs involved in the Offa, Kwara robbery, have denied the allegation.
In fact, the Senate President had previously warned that the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris was plotting to frame him.
On May 16, 2018, Senator Saraki raised an alarm about how Mr Idris was planning to “implicate” him over the Senate’s insistence that he appears to give account on the incessant killings across the country.
Mr Idris, refused to appear and has said he owes no apology for shunning the invitation of lawmakers.
In reaction, the police chief was declared an “enemy of democracy and unfit to hold any public office within and outside the country.”
The allegation made against the Senate President was not corroborated by the suspects, leading many social media activist to blast the force for being so desperate in it plot to frame him up.
In a video clip, the lead suspect Ayodele Akinnibosun confessed to taking part in the deadly operation that left more than 30 people dead. The 37-year-old claimed they were pushed by the devil to carry out the robbery.
When asked if the Governor or Saraki were aware of the robbery? Or if they sent him for the operation, Akinnibosun aka AY, said: “No! They did not send us for the robbery.”
Senator Saraki, 55, who was summoned to provide information over the robbery half of his security details withdrawn this week.
The Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara has also had some of his security removed.
Many of the legislators are furious that this executive arm of Government, which is in charge of security apparatus in the country allowed this to happen.
Having defied party big wigs in becoming the choice of his peers as Senate President, the 55-year-old has faced several other battles. This is part of the issues,  understands would be discussed at the joint meeting.
Yesterday, the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, who government sources accuse of setting up a parallel office at the Ministry of Justice and constantly battling the Senate President held a “damage control” meeting with Director-General of the State Security Service, Lawal Duara and Mr Idris.
While the DSS DG was asked to return the security details withdrawn from Nigeria’s number three man, the police chief was directed to cancel the summons he issued.
The former Governor of Kwara State confirmed in a twitter post that he has been asked to respond to the allegation made against about him by writing instead.
“Following my earlier tweet, I have received the letter from @PoliceNG. They are no longer asking me to appear at any station, but to respond in writing to the allegations within 48 hours — which I plan to do,” Senator Saraki wrote.
