Buhari gave the money to Ademola through his lawyer while case was still pending
A shocking testimony has added another twist in the on-going corruption trial against Justice Adeniyi Ademola.
At a hearing today in Abuja, a witness revealed to the court that president Muhammadu Buhari gave Justice Ademola N500,000 while his certificate controversy case was still pending before the embattled judge.
We may recall that some persons had filed a suit against the president prior to the 2015 general elections alleging that Mr. Buhari had no secondary school certificate as required by law.
The witness further revealed that the money was funneled through Buhari’s former lawyer, Awodeyin Kola. However, when cross examined, the witness stated that he did not consider the money a bribe.
Justice Ademola is being prosecuted by the Federal government for corruption. He has since denied the charges and even requested for an accelerated hearing at the trial in Abuja.
.Ademola is being prosecuted alongside his wife, Olubowale , and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Joe Agi.
