Some ex-militants graduated with First Class degrees
- Four of them were offered employment as university lecturers
Four former militants have been employed as lecturers at the Benson Idahosa University in Edo State after they graduate with First Class degrees.
The militants were some of the ones that terrorised the Niger Delta region but dropped their arms to embrace the Presidential Amnesty Programme aimed at rehabilitating them and providing a chance for them to be educated.
Vanguard reports that Brig-Gen. Paul Boroh (rtd) who is the co-ordinator of the Presi¬dential Amnesty Programme (PAP) and Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs made this disclosure in Abuja.

He said the names of the lecturers are: “Fianka Diamond Tamara (Computer Science), Debrah Ikpaazaere (Business Administration), Odiki Otogo (Political Science and Public Administration) and Lucky Boleidowa (Political Sci¬ence and Public Administra¬tion)."
“In fact, the Benson Idahosa University retained as lecturers, four of our students who had First Class. The perfor¬mance of our students abroad was even more stunning. A total of 454 of them graduated mainly from British universities with 20 having First Class and 41, Second Class Upper.”
Meanwhile, after several attacks in 2016 that led to casualties on both sides of militants and residents of Isawo in Ikorodu, Lagos, the militants are reportedly back with a vengeance.
NAN reports that the residents say they now live in fear following the return of militants who have been terrorising them in the area.
A female resident of the area who preferred to remain anonymous said: “They brandish guns openly during the daytime and rob people at night; many residents are now living in fear. The men are boasting that they are back to revenge the killings of their people in Isawo last year.
