“Once he his family is settled, he will board the next available flight to Nigeria where he is expected to be welcomed by friends and well-wishers across the political divide. We can now authoritatively say ‘Ibori bon voyage to your fatherland this February 2017.”
Fred Latimore on the other hand, also said that the UK court has cleared the way for him to return home.
He said: “What is left now is for Ibori to decide on the day he will leave for home. Ibori’s well-wishers and friends are now putting heads together to receive him.
“He is willing to come back home. It’s just for him to decide now when to come back home, all the legal hurdles have been removed.
“In the next couple of days the itinerary for his return will be released. The way the movement will be is yet to be confirmed. Until when the welcome committee has done their homework and they will now release the itinerary of his movement.”
Following the understanding that all legal hurdles to Ibori’s return have been removed, his kinsmen are now putting finishing touches to everything in preparation for the day great day.
Emerging facts from his country home, Oghara in Ethiope west local government area of the state indicate that the people are set to accord a red carpet reception to the former governor.
A powerful committee has been put in place by the community members who are working round the clock to ensure a hitch free arrival and reception is accorded to Ibori.
Members of the committee, NAIJ.com learnt, are powerful Urhobo indigenes, most of who benefited from his government in the days he held sway as governor of the oil rich Delta state.
It was gathered that renovation work is being done in the community, even as the township stadium is said to have been given a facelift by the local government chairman, Mr. Solomon Golley.
