John Curtis Holmes, King of porn movies (1944-1988)

John Holmes
John Holmes, star of over 2270 adult films and features movies of the 70s and 80s, was one of the most prolific pornography male stars of all time.
Born John Curtis Estes and raised in Ohio, he was raised in a classic family of the 1950s, attending Sunday School regularly. At age 12, he reportedly lost his virginity to one of his mother’s friends, a 36-year-old woman who liked young boys.
In 1970, he answered an ad for a male actor for an adult entertainment movie, and became an instant success. Part of his success at that time was due to a shift in the adult film industry towards making films with some sort of plot and character development. At the height of his success, he would earn $3,000 a day and more than $500,000 a year

As a porn star
His prowess
His dick was his tool and having sex with 100s of women on camera didn’t mean a thing. It’s just his way of making money.
The name of  his first and long term wife is Sharon Ann Gebenini. He took it as his job and Sharon accepted it as such. And she did, well in her way.
Not surprisingly, Sharon quit having sex with John after a while.
Holmes was best known for his exceptionally large penis, which was heavily promoted as the longest, thickest, and hardest in the porn industry, although no documented measurement of Holmes’ actual penis length.
Holmes boasted of having sex with 14000 women in his lifetime, both in films and from some women who paid handsomely for his services.
His drug addiction
In the mid-1970s he became addicted to drugs, often running up a bill of $30,000 or more. As his addiction took more control of his life, he began stealing to support his habit, which also affected his film career, making him less reliable as an actor.
Holmes would find himself down and out, reduced to an emaciated cocaine addict who resorted to breaking into cars and stealing luggage from LAX airport to support his gigantic coke habit
Holmes would eventually meet up with Palestinian Adel Nasrallah, a flamboyant nightclub owner also known as Nash.
Nash was a huge drug dealer by the late ’70s and would often sell to the patrons of his clubs, Kit Kat and Starwood.
One of his most reliable clients however, was John Holmes, who would spend nearly $750,000 on cocaine in one particular year in the late ’70s. But with his porn career now just limping along, Holmes would see his habit grow, and his fortune dwindle – a dangerous and apparently deadly combination of circumstances.
At one point, he was involved in the robbery of  the Hollywood home of Eddie Nash, a nightclub owner and drug supplier, stealing over $250,000 in cash, jewelry, and drugs.
He was said to have given the sketches of the home of Nash but was not physically present at the scene.
In a vengeful manner, Nash ordered the killings of those who were suspected to be involved, but unfortunately, many innnocent lives were killed. The scene of the killings were gruesome with blood all over the place. Many of the victims were beaten to death.
It is called the Wonderland trial.
John Holmes for the robbery which led to the murders, and after a lengthy jail term leading up to the trail, he was found innocent on June 26, 1982.
However, for not cooperating and talking to the police, he was jailed an additional 111 days for contempt of court.
The result of being jailed for almost a year detoxifies him and he began to renew his film career. However, in the summer of 1985, he discovered he had contracted AIDS.
In 1986, Holmes died as a result of AIDS related complications at age 43
Unable to obtain work, he died penniless.
The 1997 movie “Boogie Nights” was based upon his life.
